Library people: We all know our patrons use Wikipedia. We use Wikipedia. It’s a pretty awesome tool! But it can be better!! We are passing on some information about strategies you can use to help Wikipedia to be better and more accurate.

Try it for yourself! Set up a Wikipedia event in your library! Use this as a starting point to make our of our frequently-used resources to be stronger!

MCTC Library Information Technology Program

The Library Information Technology Program at Minneapolis Community & Technical College is a great oppurtunity to expand your knowledge and will equip you with the practical and conceptual skills needed to work in highly automated libraries and information agencies. Students can earn an A.A.S. Degree in order to become a paraprofessional or transfer to a 4-year college, or earn an undergraduate certificate. Both the degree and the certificates are offered in a fully online environment. Degree options:

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree – 60 credits
  • Public Information Services Certificate – 20 credits
  • Technical Information Services Certificate – 20 credits
  • Both Certificates – 29 credits

Consider an AAS Degree in Library Information Technology

CMLE has agreed to help Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) get the word out about its Library Information Technology program. In a nutshell, it  is completely online and offers an AAS degree; two Certificates that can be obtained in as little as two semesters, and stand-alone Continuing Education courses.
